Magnus Legal becomes Aider Legal

Magnus Legal is taking an important step forward in its growth and strategy by joining the Aider Group and becoming Aider Legal, together with Aider Lawyers and Strandenæs law firm. This marks a key milestone in preparing the firm to stay ahead of competition while broadening its services.

Following the merger, Aider Legal will have over 50 business lawyers, strengthening its capacity and expertise.

Magnus Legal has experienced fantastic growth in recent years, becoming a significant business law firm helping international companies navigate the Norwegian market. To serve a larger volume of international clients and position ourselves as a ‘house lawyer’ for Norwegian companies, we decided to take the next step and join Aider Legal, expanding our team from 40 to over 50 employees, says Marit Monsen, CEO of Magnus Legal.

Expanding our expertise

Joining the Aider Group gives us access to a complete center of expertise for accounting and management consulting, including payroll, advisory, outsourcing, and technology. This complements our legal services and enables us to support clients beyond purely legal matters.

We understand the importance of clear market profiles supported by a strong professional foundation. With both Magnus Legal and Strandenæs joining, we now achieve this. These firms also fit perfectly with a center of expertise with international ambitions, offering specialist knowledge in tax, VAT, and business law, says Trond Ingebrigtsen, partner in Aider and managing partner at Aider Legal.

A competitive advantage

Øivind Henrik von Mehren, chairman and partner at Magnus Legal, sees the merger as the realization of a long-term strategy and a pathway to future competitive advantage.

Our recipe for success has been to refine a one-stop-shop approach, particularly tailored to international businesses. We have systematized our core areas—tax, VAT, global mobility, employment law, business law, and accounting services. Now we gain significantly greater capacity to serve large international clients while positioning ourselves to take on the role of in-house counsel for purely Norwegian companies, he explains.

Harald F. Strandenæs, founder and CEO of the law firm Strandenæs, adds:

We found common ground with Aider Legal in shared values. It’s about meeting clients on their terms, being accessible, and using technology to deliver the best services. We also share Aider’s vision for where the business community is heading. Everything is growing, and now it is our time to grow as well.

Through this merger, we gain access to greater capacity, technology, and resources to ensure continued growth and even better service delivery. We will leverage Aider’s expanded expertise and technology environment while maintaining our independent and autonomous role.
